MORDHAU Tips and Hints for Beginners

  • Get in the habit of parrying the tip of the enemies weapon, not their chest. Many players think of parry as a moment of invulnerability or something, and it couldn’t be more wrong.
  • Learn to parry only at the last possible second. This will let you deal with anything but frame-perfect, absolute last second feints as well as most accels and drags.
  • Alternatively, learn to properly drag and accelerate your attacks. The 240 system is great, but until you can learn to manipulate your swings, fighting more experienced players is going to feel like trying to beat down a brick wall with a butter knife.
  • Footwork, footwork, footwork. Once you’ve learned the range of the weapons, you can use basic movement to slightly move out of the way/to the side of an enemies attack, giving you a nice clear window to walk in and attack them while they’re outright defenseless.
  • Determining weapon reach, width, and attack direction in order to pull off clashing is very important. Once I started getting a grip on it my kill count skyrocketed in Frontlines. Unlike a Chamber, a clash costs no stamina and allows you to combo into an attack faster than starting a new attack from neutral. Between clashing, riposting, and accels, you can attack very quickly with large weapons and dish out tons of damage even in 1vX situations.
