Hunters Guide

THE SCIENTIST

The Scientist is one of the first hunters revealed for Hide or Die, listed as one of the three initial hunters on the game’s Kickstarter page back in 2018.

Besides his electrified bat as his melee attack, the Scientist can regularly activate his portable radar, showing the rough location of nearby survivors. His special ability is a holodome, which expands to cover a small area and prevents passage by survivors.

Ability(s): Radar and Dome

Radar: The Radar will show little blips that are nearby players on the radar screen.

Dome: The dome will trap survivors inside of a blue dome. Only the hunter can leave the dome.

Weapon: Electrical Bat

Perks:

  • Big Game

Holodomes are 20%/40%/60% larger.

  • Pocket Ping

Radar pings automatically. Reduce radar ping cooldown by 0/10%/20%.

  • Carrying Bag

Scientist can carry 2/3/4 holodomes, but they no longer replenish.

Level 2: Deploy time is twice as fast.

  • Advanced Chip

Decreases time between radar pulses to 9/8/7 seconds.

  • Tracking Code

Radar is accurate up to 20/15/10 meters.

  • Zoned Target

Holodomes are 20%/40%/60% smaller.

  • Lightning Strike

Holodome causes lightning strikes that deal 25/50/lethal damage. Level 2: Strikes occur 20% more often. Level 3: 40% more often.

  • Closing Fate

Walls shrink to 85%/75%/65% of original size until deactivation.

  • Consumed

Corruption lasts 10%/30%/60% longer. Level 2: Time in forced Dark Sight reduced by 2 seconds. Level 3: Drop 25% less darkness when damaged.

THE FISHERMAN

The Fisherman is one of the first hunters revealed for Hide or Die, listed as one of the three initial hunters on the game’s Kickstarter page. The Fisherman is unlocked at survivor level 5.

The Fisherman wields a harpoon gun, and can place sonar emitters to help detect nearby survivors.

Ability(s): Harpoon Gun and Sonar

Harpoon Gun: A Gun that will shoot a harpoon. Can be explosive or electrical if the hunter is at the specified level

Sonar: Will make the nearby land turn green and a survivor near will be highlighted in green for a couple of seconds

Weapon: Non Throwable Spear

Perks

  • Ping+

Survivors pinged by sonar will be visible for 2/3/5 seconds.

  • Battery Pack

Sonar recharges 10%/25%/50% faster. Sonar will ping once every 3 seconds/2 seconds/continuously until destroyed.

  • Poison Tips

Apply 1/2/3 poison damage per second for 10 seconds.

  • CO2 Tank

The harpoon can shoot 10%/25%/50% faster.

  • Tracking

Harpoon ADS charge time is 10%/25%/50% faster and hit players will highlight for 0/1/2 seconds.

  • Shielding

Sonar health increased 50%/doubled/cannot be destroyed.

Fisherman health increased by 10%/15%/20%.

  • Explosive Bolts

The harpoon’s bolts now explode on impact dealing

10/20/30 extra damage, and deals damage up to 2/3/4 meters away.

  • Sonar Awareness

Increase sonar radius to 45/60/80 meters.

  • Consumed

Corruption lasts 10%/30%/60% longer. Level 2: Time in forced Dark Sight reduced by two seconds. Level 3: Drop 25% less darkness when damaged.

STICHES

Stitches is one of the first hunters revealed for Hide or Die, listed as one of the three initial hunters on the game’s Kickstarter page. He was originally listed as the Child. Stitches is unlocked at survivor level 10.

Being smaller than regular players, Stitches can leap in unusual spots, preferring the elements of speed and surprise to catch players off guard. He can place Jack-in-the-boxes around the map, alerting him when a survivor comes close to one, and has True Sight, letting him see nearby survivors through walls.

 

Ability(s): Jackboxes and True Sight (Perk)

Jackboxes: Boxes that can be thrown onto the ground and when a survivor gets near it, Stitches gets a notification

True Sight (Perk) : Highlight Nearby Survivors for 2 seconds (This ability is a perk and can be upgraded)

Weapon: Scissors

Perks

  • Toy Box

Place a maximum of 3/4/5 jackboxes.

  • Bouncy Ball

Add forward velocity to Stitches’ jump. Level 2: Doubled forward velocity. Level 3: Allow jumping off of a wall mid-air.

  • Health Boost

Stitches has 10%/15%/25% more health.

  • Springboard

Stitches can jump 10%/15%/25% higher. Level 3: Stitches can double jump.

  • Surprise

Survivors detected by a jackbox will be visible for 2/3/5 seconds, and increases trigger radius by 10%/25%/50%.

  • Dash

Stitches can dash forward 5/7.5 meters. Level 3: Stitches can double dash.

  • True Sight

Increase True Sight range to 40/50/60 metres and reduce cooldown to 15/13/10 seconds.

True Sight 20/20

Highlight survivors for 2/2/3 seconds. Level 2: Increase True Sight field of view to 100 degrees. Level 3: Double True Sight field of view to 180 degrees.

  • Consumed

Corruption lasts 10%/30%/60% longer. Level 2: Time in forced Dark Sight reduced by two seconds. Level 3: Drop 25% less darkness when damaged.
