Hades’ Star Basic Tips and Tricks

Support: Shipping computer should be a good priority along with more capacity. Both will speed up your shipments very well. Do not overupgrade on shipping capacity if you can’t support the hydro cost, each level of extra space takes a noticeable amount of hydro away.

Weapons: Batt and Dual Laser are the true endgame weapons for Red Star and White Star, you will very likely never use any of the other.

Shields: All shields have a role if you intend to play White Star as well as Red Star. So to say don’t use passive shields is plain wrong in the long run. You would want both Omega and Passive. Passive at high level may require a lot of hydro to run, yes, but at higher level, teleport is what gets you to most places and most of the running away would be within a sector, or adjacent sectors so you don’t often move that much.

For my personal style, once I can run an RS with passive, I save massively on hydro. If you activate your omega twice, you are almost definitely using more hydro unless you just move sector to sector without teleing ever. Omega is the shield you use when you struggle, as you can run down your shield before the RS and activate it again mid-battle.

Mining: Remote mining is key to speeding up mining operations anywhere, considering getting that early on along with mining boost.

Keep Your System in Balance: If you do too many upgrades of anything, your hydrogen use goes up and you can really struggle to mine enough. So you need to balance economic upgrades (colonisation, planet upgrades, and transport upgrades) with hydrogen (exploration and miner upgrades) with the battle capability (weapons, shields, and battle modules).
