What’s Blood Veil?
Blood Veil for Code Vein is a type of Armor that both gives protection and unique appearance to the player character. These can be found inside chests, dropped by enemies and/or bosses, given by NPCs, obtained as a reward for completing quests, and can be purchased from Merchants.
- Blood Veils are integral to Builds, and players should look at the effect that they have on their Weapons and Stats given scaling. Blood Veils also modify the type of Drain Attacks a player will perform. Those types are: Ogre, Stinger, Hound and Vine. Each type is different, and this affect the way to use the charged Drain Attack in combat. And for example, the parry animation startup and actual parry frames differs from type to type.
- Leveling up raises your stats, and your chosen Blood Veil will determine how those stats are allocated.
How to Use Blood Veil
Depending on the type of Blood Veil that you have equipped, your character has unique attacks that it can do as drain attacks. There are a couple of ways that you can use the Blood Veil to use drain attacks and gain Ichor in the process. The Blood Veil and its drain attacks are what are used when you hit a successful parry on an opponent.
You can also use your Blood Veil when doing charge attacks. These can be done by holding the A Button on the Xbox Controller (X button PS4 or the Control and LMB on PC).
You’ll also use the Blood Veil when you do Backstab attacks. Simply walk-up behind an enemy and press the light attack button. If successful you’ll get a drain attack using the Blood Veil.
